More information regarding accounts, blogs and groups can be found in the chapter: 'Accounts, Blogs and Groups'
The Dashboard is the first you see every time you start myTumblr.
If you use myTumblr like me - always open in background - you will be happy to hear that the dashboard is refreshed automatically. You are free to change the interval in the Preferences.
Here you can also switch between your accounts.

myTumblr allows you to manage multiple accounts.
Please keep in mind that there is a difference between an account and blogs/groups that ‘belong’ to one account.
When logged in with one account you are free to publish to different blogs/groups.
You may always publish to the first (default) blog/group - or, if enabled, you can choose every time to which blog/group you want to publish to.
You can add as many blogs/groups to one account you like to and order them to fit your needs…
Accounts (Blogs/Groups) are managed in the Preferences.
Tags (you may also call them topics) are e great way to help your readers find content on your blog.
All your used tags are automatically saved by myTumblr and when you start to type a previously used tag they are automatically completed…
Snippets can be used for recurring articles, code snippets - or whatever you need them to do for you…
Yes - sometimes one need to format a post the good old HTML-style. And you are allowed to do so…
So - you're a nerd and HTML isn't enough for you?
Not a problem!
Just enable
Markdown support in the Preferences…
Every entry can be previewed. Of course you'll not need this for basic text entries with bold or italic. But when you use HTML or some scripts it makes much sense.
There is also Quick Look available for audio and video files…
Posting photos is a no-brainer with myTumblr.
Simple drag-and-drop the desired photo onto the 'image-view' and you're done. Of course you can also use the detour and open a photo by Finder.
Tumblr automatically downsizes images. If you have a 'big' image and need a better quality - you should allow myTumblr to downsize the photo before it is published.
Information regarding editing photos can be found in the chapter: 'Editing Photos'
If you don't want to primarily publish a photo with some accompanying text - but lots of text with a photo - you rather should insert a photo into a text post.
You can do so by simple dragging one onto the text view or clicking the 'Photo-button'.
Of course this photo can also be downsized and edited.
Information regarding editing photos can be found in the chapter: 'Editing Photos'
Of course myTumblr is not Pixelmator and of course not Photoshop - but basic editing tasks like cropping, enhancing ore applying annotations can be done with ease.
Simply click the 'Edit-button' next to the image view and the 'Edit-window' will open.
Please notice, that a s long as this 'Edit-window' is active, you are allowed to undo every step.
You will post audio and video files the same way you post a photo. Simply drag-and-drop them (or open them by Finder) and hit 'Publish'.
Please keep in mind that your space (amount/time) on Tumblr is limited.
myTumblr will inform you, when your available space is exceeded…
